AI & Data Sciences Showcase:
Sidra Medicine

Sidra Medicine's mission is to be a beacon of learning, discovery and exceptional care, ranked among the top academic medical centers in the world. The ultramodern healthcare organization is a testament to Qatar's pioneering spirit and sustained commitment to its human and social development.

The Qatar Genome Programme (QGP) Population-Based Project
Qatar has a heavy burden of genetic disorders, which is mostly explained by a high consanguinity rate. Multiple genetic disorders are common among the Qatari population including inherited and complex diseases. The Qatar Genome Programme (QGP) is a population-based project lunched in 2015 and aiming to help advancing the implementation of precision medicine in the state of Qatar. Sidra is playing a pivotal role in this project and the research branch is responsible for sequencing, bioinformatics and data management. The project aim to generate a database combining whole genome sequencing and other omics data with the comprehensive phenotypic data collected at Qatar Biobank to better understand diseases and identify potential therapeutic approaches.

Session Abstract – PMWC Silicon Valley

The PMWC 2020 AI Company Showcase will provide a 15-minute time slot for selected AI companies to present their latest technologies to an audience of leading investors, potential clients, and partners. We will hear from companies building technologies that expedite the pre-clinical and clinical drug discovery and development process, accelerate patient diagnosis and treatment, or develop scalable systems framework to make AI and deep/machine learning a reality.
