Dr. Mohamed Ramzi TEMANNI has more than 15 years of international experience working closely with biologists, clinicians, and scientists in academia, hospitals, and biotech/Pharma help them analyze biomedical data and address complex research questions. He has a broad knowledge of Bioinformatics, Medical informatics, Machine Learning, Decision making Support and High-Performance computing. He had an active contribution to 3 multi-disciplinary Pan-European research projects (Nugenob, DioGenes, and ProNest) and played a key role in the design and execution of the bioinformatics analysis within Qatar Genome Programme. Dr. Mohamed Ramzi TEMANNI joined Sidra Medical and Research Center as a Bioinformatics Research Scientist in September 2013. His research at SIDRA focuses on Pipeline Development and Analysis of Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) data, Genomic Data Visualization, and Translational Bioinformatics. He has been leading the Bioinformatics Core 2015. The group is in charge of providing bioinformatics support to investigators within Sidra as well as collaborators across Qatar and in the region. He is also coordinating the NGS data analysis for the pilot phase for Qatar Genome Programme.

The Qatar Genome Programme (QGP) Population-Based Project
Qatar has a heavy burden of genetic disorders, which is mostly explained by a high consanguinity rate. Multiple genetic disorders are common among the Qatari population including inherited and complex diseases. The Qatar Genome Programme (QGP) is a population-based project lunched in 2015 and aiming to help advancing the implementation of precision medicine in the state of Qatar. Sidra is playing a pivotal role in this project and the research branch is responsible for sequencing, bioinformatics and data management. The project aim to generate a database combining whole genome sequencing and other omics data with the comprehensive phenotypic data collected at Qatar Biobank to better understand diseases and identify potential therapeutic approaches.
