Biography
Dr. Harlan Robins has led the scientific research and development teams since Adaptive Biotechnologies was founded in 2009. Prior, he served in various roles in the Computational Biology Program at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, including Assistant Faculty Member, Associate, and Full Member and Head of the program. Dr. Robins obtained his bachelor’s degree in physics at Harvard University with a concentration in mathematics. He then obtained his Masters and Ph.D. in theoretical physics from the University of California Berkeley with a visiting appointment to the California Institute of Technology. He obtained a postdoctoral appointment in theoretical physics in the particle theory group at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel followed by another postdoctoral appointment at the Institute for Advance Study in Princeton to study under famed biologist, Dr. Arnold Levine. During this time, he concentrated on developing bioinformatic algorithms for micro RNA targets and bacterial genome analysis.
