Biography
Alka Chaubey is double board-certified in clinical cytogenetics/genomics and clinical molecular genetics/genomics by the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics (ABMGG). She is a Fellow of the American College of Medical Genetics and Genomics (FACMG). She serves on the Board of Directors for the Cancer Genomics Consortium and was the Genetics Subdivision Nominating Committee representative of the Association of Molecular Pathologists (AMP). Dr Chaubey serves on the ACMG DEI committee and is a genomics enthusiast.
Sequencing technologies are continuously improving, making it easier to obtain more in-depth molecular information than ever before. Emerging single-cell multi-omics sequencing technologies allow the capture of multiple modalities from a cell, including its epigenome, transcriptome, epitranscriptome, and proteome. This allows research into the heterogeneity of many biological mechanisms, and insights into complex molecular mechanisms that underpin disease.
