Session Abstract – PMWC 2020 Silicon Valley
Information about an individual’s health and healthcare is needed to support coordinated, safe, high-quality, cost-effective, patient-centered care. Much of this information resides in multiple settings where patients receive care and services, including community clinics, hospitals, health systems, primary care physician offices, laboratories, pharmacies, imaging centers, and even with the patients themselves. Interoperability of health information technology systems helps bring this information to the point of care to support clinical decision-making. It also supports individuals as they navigate their healthcare. Most clinicians and hospitals have adopted electronic health records. The next step is to accelerate interoperability of those electronic health records systems to bring information to clinicians for optimal patient outcomes.

Biography
Anil Sethi is the CEO of Ciitizen, a Silicon Valley startup helping patients collect, organize, and securely share all their digital health data—converting text narratives, into computable data. acquired Sethi’s consumer Health Records company Gliimpse in 2016. Apple released its Health Records feature in 2018. Anil served as a Director of Apple Health until leaving in 2017 to take care of his little sister Tania, who died soon after from Metastatic Breast Cancer. Amongst his previous five healthcare ventures, he’s had one failure, three exits (WebMD, Citrix, Apple) and a Nasdaq IPO.
