Conference Co-Hosts

University of Michigan

The 14th installment of the Precision Medicine World Conference (PMWC) will take place at the University of Michigan on June 6-7, 2018. This conference is coinciding with U-M’s launch of the new Precision Health research initiative, which will combine biomedical expertise, big data, and social sciences for a comprehensive approach to tailored health solutions.

To support Michigan University’s goals to bring together leading researchers from across the university and the country to facilitate this new and exciting research initiative, PMWC together with U-M have identified the University of Michigan and its campus as an optimal location for this next conference. This forum will showcase practical content that helps close the knowledge gap between different sectors, thereby catalyzing cross-functional fertilization and collaboration to benefit both Michigan University and all PMWC attendees.

The program will traverse innovative technologies, and review already thriving initiatives and clinical case studies that enable the translation of precision medicine into direct improvements in health care. Conference attendees will have an opportunity to learn first-hand about the latest developments and advances in precision medicine and cutting-edge new strategies and solutions that are changing how patients are treated. This is reflected in the Program Theme chosen to be: “Big Data in Action: Data-driven Insights in the Clinic”.

Agenda highlights:

    • More than 35 sessions with 100+ thought-provoking, insightful talks that cover all facets of precision medicine
    • Two tracks will showcase sessions on the latest advancements in precision medicine which include, but are not limited to:
    • Pharmacogenomics today and tomorrow
    • Challenges and barriers at the community setting
    • Patient engagement and affordability challenges
    • Legal and ethical challenges in precision medicine
    • Integrating genomic data into patient medical records
    • Emerging technologies in precision medicine (circulating tumor cells, CRISPR, NGS diagnostics, microbiome, biomarkers)
    • Personalized delivery in health care
    • Personalized modeling of precision health
    • NIH All of Us Research Program
    • Transforming Big Data into actionable information
    • Opioid precision health
    • Neurosciences
    • Implementing Big Data in the clinic
    • Wellness and Aging
    • Epigenetics and Aging
    • Precision Cancer Therapy
    • Data sharing and standardization in translational medicine
    • Personalized modeling of precision
    • The Economic and Socio-political Aspects of Precision Medicine
